Cast in our personally designed and built roaster, each batch of malt is meticulously cared for and monitored so as to have just the right character brewers are looking for. In our Grain + Fire Series, we offer products ranging from sweet carmel malts to dark and robust.
Freshness is key. As soon as heat hits the malt the oxidation process starts. Big name malt houses will roast giant quantities and ship through the year. At Sugar Creek Malt Co. we roast in 100-200 lb increments allowing us to provide brewers with the freshest roasted malt possible. You wouldn't roast a bag of coffee and let it sit for a year before brewing a cup of joe would you? Then why would you treat your beer the same?
