BLACK RICE [MALTED]
Black Rice is a heirloom variety traditionally grown in China, known as "Forbidden Rice". It has a dark black color and when mashed will impart a deep mauve/purple color. Black Rice also has a lower gluten content than traditional rice. It will impart a crisp yet malty and slight nutty flavor.
With a lower FG Extract rate than flaked rice, it allows for higher "adjunct" ratio to base malt. Resulting in a stronger color/flavor profile without thinning your beer out.
